Greetings!
I love the Ocean! I grew up and still live in Carlsbad, CA. which is located right on the ocean. Growing up as a small girl the ocean and it's beaches were my playground. Even today as I write this blog...I have just returned from playing at the beach with my 1 year old Grandson, Merric. I have always been concerned about our environment and the health and well being of all the creatures in the sea and the water itself.
I am very please to support the Ocean Futures Society. I urge you to tour their website and find out more and you too can help support this amazing miracle.....the ocean.
For over 60 years, Jean-Michel Cousteau, his father and family have been part of the greatest exploration of the ocean in all of history. Jean-Michel's father, Jacques Cousteau, said, "People protect what they love." Realizing that "We can't protect what we don't yet understand," Jean-Michel Cousteau has dedicated Ocean Futures Society to advancing his family's legacy for a world increasingly in need of information and inspiration.
We do know that the health of the oceans is declining due to human impact. The planet is sick and its temperature is rising. WE need everyone to do what ever they can to make sure our ocean's have a healthy future and will be a part of our legacy to our family for generations to come.

- Clean Water, the essence of life and a birthright for everyone, must become available to all people now.
- Coastal Marine Habitats, coral reefs, estuaries and wetlands, must receive protection in order to assure the ocean's quality of life and thus our own.
- Marine Mammals, our biological counterparts in the sea, must be protected from human impact.
- Sustainable Fisheries must be created to reflect our ability to manage natural resources wisely.
