I am hoping that if you are reading this that you have seen the movie Pay It Forward, but if you haven't I seriously recommend seeing this movie. It will be a True way to Celebrate Good News.
I have lived my life by helping others and knowing that God/Universe would come full circle and help me out in the time of need.
In the past month, I have truly been living my life this way.
A couple of weeks ago I purchase an all day bus pass. I didn't realize it at the time that I wouldn't need the ticket because I was taking the train for my return trip. I approached a couple waiting for the bus at the transportation center here in Southern California. I asked, "Are you waiting for the bus?" And they said, "Yes." I handed them my bus ticket. They offered to purchase it from me and I said just Pay It Forward. They were astonished that I would not ask for them to pay for it and I just gave it to them. They were extremely appreciative.
February 21, 2008, I was picking up our truck from the shop and the rental car that we had, somehow the keys go locked in the car. I had 40 minutes to get to the shop to pick up the truck and roadside assistance said they would be there in 30 minutes. I had to figure out another way to get to the shop. I asked a lady if I could walk through the park to get to the main street, she said she didn't know if there was access. Out of nowhere, another lady, Patty, said it would take to long to go through the park and that she would give me a ride. WOW, a kind person! Patty said that if everyone did something good this would be a better world. She is my kind of person. She programmed her car with the address and away we went. A complete stranger offered me a ride. Patty is an extremely nice lady for doing this. And I remembered that I have given my bus ticket way weeks prior.
Last night, February 27, 2008, I was out having dinner with my parents & friends and there was a more mature gentleman sitting alone eating dinner. Quietly sitting there not speaking to anyone, not even the server. I was compelled to buy him dinner. I called the server over and asked for the gentleman's check. I asked the server not to say anything to the man. When he found out that his check was paid for, he started to smile, his whole demeanor changed, and he even started up a conversation with the server. It was a GREAT feeling to have made someone happy.
